In more detail
How many claims did we handle in 2025?
We handled 7,928 claims in 2025. 2,552 were opened during the year and 5,376 were already open on 1 January.
Just over two thirds of the year's work was therefore on claims that began in earlier years, which fits a practice where many claims run for more than a year.
How many claims did we close in 2025?
We closed 1,990 claims in 2025: 1,094 of those opened in 2025 and 896 of those carried in from earlier years.
What does “handled” mean?
A claim counts as handled if it was open at any point in the calendar year. It measures workload, not outcomes. It does not tell you how many claims succeeded, or what any claim recovered.
How many clients have we helped, and how much has been paid out?
More than 16,000 clients since 2005, and £47.1m paid out to clients in that time.
The money figure comes from our client account ledger, with reversals removed. It is a total across the whole period. It says nothing about what any one claim is worth, and it is not a guide to what you could receive.
Why do the records start in 2005?
Our oldest case on the system dates from 2005, when the firm was Integrity Legal, part of the Proximo Group. It later traded as Proximo Legal Services and is now Fernstone Law. The figures cover that whole history.
What do these figures leave out?
Motor finance. Our case management system does not hold motor finance claims, so none are counted here. “More than” figures are rounded down, and the 2025 figures cover the calendar year.
