Fallen somewhere that wasn't properly maintained? There's no need to feel embarrassed, and you may have a claim

Whoever is responsible for the space you fell in has a duty to keep it reasonably safe. If they didn't, and that caused your accident, we'll help you understand your options.

Dealing with an injury is hard enough without navigating a legal process on top of it. We take that off your plate. We handle the legal work, gathering evidence, dealing with the relevant insurer, negotiating your settlement, while you focus on recovering.

We only take on claims we genuinely believe in. If we say you have a case, you can trust that's a considered view, not a sales pitch. And accidents like this happen far more often than people think, there's genuinely no need to feel embarrassed about it.

What kinds of slip, trip or fall do we handle?

  • Wet floors without warning signs

In shops, restaurants or other business premises.

  • Poorly lit walkways

Where inadequate lighting contributed to the accident.

  • Uneven or damaged flooring

Trip hazards that should have been repaired or marked.

  • Obstructed walkways

Items or displays left somewhere they create a hazard.

  • Ice or snow left ungritted

On paths and walkways where the occupier is responsible for maintenance.

What if I was partly at fault?

Partial fault doesn't necessarily prevent a claim. Where responsibility is shared, compensation may simply be reduced proportionally. This is called contributory negligence. It's always worth asking rather than assuming you don't have a claim.

What you could receive

Compensation for a slip, trip or fall claim typically covers two things: general damages, for the pain, suffering and impact on your life, and special damages, your actual financial losses such as lost earnings, medical costs, or travel to appointments.

We'll talk you through what's realistic for your specific situation once we've reviewed the details. We won't overpromise, and we won't quote a figure before we've properly understood your case.

How does a claim actually work?

Four stages, and you always know which one you're in.

  1. 01

    Initial consultation

You tell us what happened. We listen, ask the right questions, and give you a straight view on whether your claim has merit. This is free, with no obligation to proceed.

  2. 02

    Investigation

We gather evidence, photographs of the hazard, incident reports, witness statements, maintenance records where relevant, and build the strongest possible case on your behalf.

  3. 03

    Negotiation

Most slip, trip and fall claims settle without going to court. We negotiate directly with the occupier's insurer to reach a fair settlement.

  4. 04

    Resolution

Once agreed, your compensation is paid. We'll explain exactly how our fee is calculated before you agree to anything, in line with the funding terms below.

Don't leave it late

How long do I have to claim?

Most slip, trip and fall claims must be brought within three years of the accident, or three years from the date you first connected your injury to the accident. For children, that three year clock starts on their eighteenth birthday.

If you're not sure whether you're still within the time limit, contact us. We'll tell you quickly.

The money side

What will it cost me?

Nothing upfront. Where a no win, no fee agreement applies, our fee comes from your compensation only if the claim succeeds, and it's set out in full, in writing, before you agree to anything.

  • We'll explain the funding options available for your claim, which may include a conditional fee (no win, no fee) arrangement, clearly and in full before you decide whether to proceed.
  • Where a conditional fee agreement applies and your claim succeeds, a success fee is deducted from your compensation. The law limits that fee in personal injury claims, and it is never taken from any damages awarded for future care or future loss of earnings. We explain exactly how it is worked out, in writing, before you agree to anything.
  • A cancellation fee may apply if you withdraw outside the 14 day cooling off period. Full details will be provided before you sign anything.
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need photos of where I fell?

They help a great deal if you're able to take them, but it isn't essential to get started. We can advise on what evidence is realistic to gather.

What if there was no warning sign for the hazard?

That's often central to these claims. An occupier's failure to warn people of a known hazard is exactly the kind of thing that can support a claim.

What does "occupier's liability" mean?

It's the legal responsibility a business, landlord, or landowner has to keep visitors reasonably safe on their premises.

Do I need to have reported the fall at the time?

It helps if you did, but a claim isn't ruled out if you didn't. We'll advise based on what you're able to tell us.

Will my claim go to court?

Most slip, trip and fall claims settle through negotiation, without ever reaching a courtroom.
