Injured at work? Your employer has a duty to keep you safe, and if they didn't, you may have a claim

Whether it's unsafe equipment, poor training, or a lack of proper safety procedures, if your employer's negligence caused your injury, we'll help you understand your options.

Dealing with an injury is hard enough without navigating a legal process on top of it. We take that off your plate. We handle the legal work, gathering evidence, dealing with your employer's insurer, negotiating your settlement, while you focus on recovering.

We only take on claims we genuinely believe in. If we say you have a case, you can trust that's a considered view, not a sales pitch.

What kinds of workplace accident do we handle?

  • Unsafe or faulty equipment

Injuries caused by machinery or tools that weren't properly maintained or safe to use.

  • Inadequate training

Accidents that happened because you weren't properly trained for a task.

  • Lack of protective equipment

Injuries that proper PPE would have prevented.

  • Manual handling injuries

Back, joint or muscle injuries from lifting or moving without proper support or procedure.

  • Falls from height

Injuries from ladders, scaffolding, or elevated work areas without adequate safety measures.

What if I was partly at fault?

Partial fault doesn't necessarily prevent a claim. Where responsibility is shared, for example if training was inadequate but proper procedure wasn't fully followed either, compensation may simply be reduced proportionally. This is called contributory negligence. It's always worth asking rather than assuming you don't have a claim.

What you could receive

Compensation for a workplace injury claim typically covers two things: general damages, for the pain, suffering and impact on your life, and special damages, your actual financial losses such as lost earnings, medical costs, or travel to appointments.

We'll talk you through what's realistic for your specific situation once we've reviewed the details. We won't overpromise, and we won't quote a figure before we've properly understood your case.

How does a claim actually work?

Four stages, and you always know which one you're in.

  1. 01

    Initial consultation

You tell us what happened. We listen, ask the right questions, and give you a straight view on whether your claim has merit. This is free, with no obligation to proceed.

  2. 02

    Investigation

We gather evidence, incident reports, witness statements, training records and medical records, and build the strongest possible case on your behalf.

  3. 03

    Negotiation

Most workplace injury claims settle without going to court. We negotiate directly with your employer's liability insurer to reach a fair settlement.

  4. 04

    Resolution

Once agreed, your compensation is paid. We'll explain exactly how our fee is calculated before you agree to anything.

Don't leave it late

How long do I have to claim?

Most workplace injury claims must be brought within three years of the accident, or three years from the date you first connected your injury to the accident. For children, that three year clock starts on their eighteenth birthday.

If you're not sure whether you're still within the time limit, contact us. We'll tell you quickly.

The money side

What will it cost me?

Nothing upfront. Where a no win, no fee agreement applies, our fee comes from your compensation only if the claim succeeds, and it's set out in full, in writing, before you agree to anything.

  • We'll explain the funding options available for your claim, which may include a conditional fee (no win, no fee) arrangement, clearly and in full before you decide whether to proceed.
  • Where a conditional fee agreement applies and your claim succeeds, a success fee is deducted from your compensation. The law limits that fee in personal injury claims, and it is never taken from any damages awarded for future care or future loss of earnings. We explain exactly how it is worked out, in writing, before you agree to anything.
  • A cancellation fee may apply if you withdraw outside the 14 day cooling off period. Full details will be provided before you sign anything.
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I be sacked for making a claim against my employer?

No. Dismissing or treating you unfairly because you have made a legitimate personal injury claim is unlawful, and would give rise to a separate claim in its own right.

Who actually pays the compensation?

Your employer's liability insurer, not your employer directly. Employers are required by law to hold that insurance for exactly this situation.

What if the company has since closed down?

It is often still possible to claim. We can trace the insurer who covered the business at the time of your accident, and pursue the claim through them.

Do I need to have reported the accident at the time?

It helps, because an entry in the accident book is useful evidence, but it is not essential. We can build the picture from medical records, witnesses and other documents.

Will my claim go to court?

Most workplace injury claims settle through negotiation with the insurer, without ever reaching a courtroom.

What does “employer’s liability” mean?

It’s the legal responsibility employers have to take reasonable care of their employees’ health and safety at work, backed by compulsory insurance.

What does “duty of care” mean?

It’s the legal responsibility your employer has to take reasonable steps to prevent you coming to harm while at work.
